You are the master! All I'm ever able to find are the new solicitations a couple of hours early...

Rob says the boards are open to all now, btw, so post away, everybody!

I'll miss my space >=

And I'm having trouble both logging in as dylanfan and registering gormuu. It keeps telling me to choose another name other than gormuu. Maybe someone has played a dirty trick on me and registered it?

You can change that in your Profile under the "Alias" heading. It doesn't change your login name, but does change the name that shows up on the screen next to your posts...

That's how I got Bill_Nolan to show up rather than billnolan.

Good God this is frustrating! I'm trying to click profile, start new topic, anything! And all I get is this screen that says I need to get permission from my parents to join the board! This is really annoying.

We don't want any Marvel fans.

Seriously, I had to enter my birth date. If you need your parents permission, then I'm guessing that you are either under 18 or accidentally told WB that you are.

Incidentally, I'm offended that this is required information; my birth year should be sufficient.

When I tried to register it just kept saying I need a new screen name, I could use spaces. Except.....I tried things like "Hawkman" which HAD no spaces to begin with. Aaargh. How are you supposed to register?

I forgot to take out the garbage, so I told my wife I would wear this mark of shame on my sig:
I am not a man, but a tiny weakling in the face of the GREATNESS of my gorgeous wife!

*GASP* You are secretly a Marvel fan! Does your mother know this?

Or maybe the new system's full of bugs, ya think? I'll bet we have both boards running side by side for the next week or so, until the bugs get worked out.

I gave it my email address, and it keeps saying it needs a unique and valid email address.

Hey I tried different combinations of India Ink, but it wouldn't let me use that screen name (probably because I'm already in the system, just can't access my name/password yet) so I hit on using lndia lnk instead--ie. lower case L instead of upper case i. That did the trick.

Also, I registered for this board so long ago now that I had a different email back then. I forget what the password was for that email. So I saw no point in using that old email address in my new registration.

It's bad enough to always have to reply in a little reply box, but I find it distracting to reply in a little reply box with all this activity surrounding the box.

For longer posts I'll likely compose them first and then come to the reply screen and copy parts of the composition to that screen. Or if posting off the cuff in the reply box, and you don't want to risk losing your precious prose, it's probably best to copy using edit before submitting to the cyber-demons.

James, I had this problem until I went back and re-entered my password in all-small case.
Same with the screen name, also no spaces in between words. I finally changed my screen name to the proper "Cave Carson" form using the edit button in the profile section (thanks for the tip, Rob! )

*Phew* I didn't realize what a fanboyish attachment I had to my username until I watched it evaporating away!

I tried out a few usernames before I started using this one, and I probably would have moved onto yet another name but for the fact that I had established a certain recognition under this name. So it looks like I'm stuck with this pen-name.

You mean the Republicans admit that we beat Saddam Hussein thanks to former Commander in Chief Bill Clinton?

Boy, some people don't listen. It's a trial, and you had to be INVITED - hence the fact that you're having trouble. It's not a free for all yet. Uggh.

It does seem to be open to all now, asgardian.

I'm in, despite it telling me I still had to do things I'd already done. It's not just a confusing registration process, but it seems itself to be confused, poor thing....

Ain't that a kick in the head?

On Tuesday, at a speech promoting his economic plan in Indianapolis, White House aides went so far as to ask people in the crowd behind Mr. Bush to take off their ties, WISH-TV in Indianapolis reported, so they would look more like the ordinary folk the president said would benefit from his tax cut.

I can't get on, even after following all directions and alternate versions of everything. Unless they get back to me, I suppose it is adios.
